This tool is a genuinely easy, user-friendly, and affordable way to make sure your monitor is always calibrated. So useful for photographers who use a projector to show galleries during in-person sales meetings. Another neat thing about the ColorMunki Display is that you can even use it to calibrate a projector. Another cool feature is you can set it to monitor the ambient lighting near your computer and update your screen to account for the available light. This is useful because unfortunately monitors do change over time, so I set mine up to remind me to calibrate every four weeks. Another great feature is that you can set the software to remind you to re-calibrate at certain intervals. The before-and-after feature at the end was really nice, because it showed me how it changed the appearance of my screen and how it made my monitor brighter and my colors more accurate. It then calibrated my monitor and changed my monitor settings for me, so I didn’t have to do a thing or dig through any monitor settings myself. The program showed me exactly where and how to place the device on my screen. It was super easy for me and the whole process took less than 10 minutes. There were options for “easy” or “advanced” and I selected “easy” and let the wizard guide me through the entire calibration process. I popped the software CD in and installed it, and started up the wizard. I was worried it would take a lot of time and possibly be confusing, but I was so wrong! The ColorMunki Display includes a software CD, the calibration device, and a simple user manual. One reason I had been putting it off is that it seems like a complicated task. I recently used the X-Rite ColorMunki Display to calibrate my monitor and my first impression was that it was SO easy to use! I got this new monitor fairly recently and the color seemed really good so I had slacked on calibrating it until now, which I know is a major mistake! Calibrating your monitor is incredibly important to ensure prints and products will match what you see on your screen. The auto white balance on my nikon d300 is horrid so the color checker is something I want to pick up, and with the bundle it's half price. I just want something that is easy to use and does a decent job, hence the colormunki display. I have a home studio (which I haven't started to use yet) and need accurate prints, but I'm a beginner in color calibration. I am aware of the differences between the i1display pro and the colormunki display. The Dell is a Japanese Dell.ġ) is the spectraview software really worth it? Would just the NEC monitor and colormunki display be fine? Note, the NEC monitors won't come with warrantys probably since I'd order them from the states (I'm in Japan). $408 + colormunki display/color checker bundle $219ģ)Dell U2410 $450 + colormunki display/color checker bundle $219 comes with the spectraview 2 software and NEC/i1display pro puck $677Ģ)NEC P221. So, after lots of troubleshooting and wasted prints, I've found that my old Dell monitor cannot be calibrated in windows 7 since it lacks drivers for windows 7 and my spyder2pro doesn't work in w7 either.
